Governor Moore Announces Kevin Sexton as Nominee for Chair of the Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Wes Moore today announced Kevin Sexton as the nominee for Chair of the Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission, which regulates the State of Maryland’s hospital rates, advances health system transformation, and supports the innovative Total Cost of Care Model and Achieving Healthcare Efficiency through Accountable Design (AHEAD) Model to improve care quality, health outcomes, and cost efficiency.

Sexton was an HSCRC Commissioner for 8 years and served as the President and CEO of Holy Cross Hospital from 1998-2018. Throughout his eighteen-year tenure at Holy Cross Health, the organization earned numerous accolades for clinical excellence and public service.
His leadership oversaw a strategic restructuring that established the Holy Cross Health Network, managing community health centers and prenatal care facilities for the uninsured.
Having served as an HSCRC Commissioner for eight years, including six as vice chair, he possesses a deep proficiency in Maryland's hospital rate-setting regulatory framework.
